I have been around heavy equipment all my life. I began Schlegel Excavating, Inc. because I wanted to use my experience to make a difference in my own community.
When I was a young boy, my grandfather and father both ran heavy equipment and used to share their stories and experiences with me over the years.
I remember, fondly, traveling to my father’s jobs sites to watch him run equipment. Growing up, I worked side by side with him on odd jobs, such as lumbering, running equipment and driving truck. Later, I began working for a large construction company away from home.
Wanting to be near my family, I decided to venture into the new territory of owning my own business. We are a family owned business operating since 1995 and have twelve employees.
The process from starting with nothing more than dirt and a dream and making it evolve into something beautiful for our customers has always been rewarding for me.
Our customer’s satisfaction is our number one goal.
